I have been thinking about creating a ranking-per-battle system for a fair 1vs1 tourney or ladder. The way I have done it is by making each win worth anywhere between 0.25 pts to 2.00 points depending on matchup. I think if we can agree on a balanced points setup this could lead to a fair 1vs1 tourney someday.
I only thought of it 15 mins ago, and I made this short list only showing off pure HDIN points to see if anyone thinks it’d be worth continuing or if it’s just a waste of time... also if anyone would like to contribute 🤤
Remember: every single thing is up for debate. The build types, the breakpoint amounts, the win:loss ratio etc. This is only a template to see if it would be worth exploring for any future tourney/ladder.
So far I have been going off of these rules:
Lowest points per duel: 0.25
Highest points per duel: 2.00
Minimum 0.25 point value increases
Build types:
Din- hdin, libby, all charge variants, vt, melee
Barb- ww, brawler, melee
Druid- nado, fissure, melee
Sorc- blizz, lightning, fb, fw
Sin- ls, wof, melee
Nec- boner
Zon- bow, psn, hyb, cs
So for example I will list pure hdin vs all build points. Obviously it would take a bit of time to list out all builds vs all builds points, but it wouldn’t take that long especially with community input and it could lay the framework for some very successful tourneys in the future! Questions being: is it worth it? What other builds to add? How to adjust point amounts because mine aren’t absolute? Lmk
Here are pure hdin vs all totals that I have originally listed. This is definitely just an example as I have never even played hdin:
PURE HDIN Points per duel
Vs hdin 1.00
Vs libby 1.25
Vs charge variants 1.00
Vs vt 0.25
Vs melee 0.25
Vs ww 0.75
Vs brawler 0.75
Vs melee barb 0.25
Vs windy 0.75
Vs fissure 0.75
Vs melee 0.25
Vs blizz 0.75
Vs lightning 1.00
Vs fb 1.5
Vs fw 1.5
Vs ls trap 1.75
Vs wof trap 1.25
Vs melee 0.25
Vs bone necro 0.75-1.00??
Vs pure bow 1.75
Vs pure psn 1.00
Vs hyb bow/psn 2.00
Vs cs 0.25
Okay so as I stated these points are just rough beginning numbers, but what do people think of the concept? Is it worth doing the numbers for the rest of the chars?
