I play ladder US EAST softcore.

Does it make sense to LLD on ladder? or is this a NL thing?

Are there any players who actually LLD? I know there are no pub games for sure like there would be years ago.

Also, from the point of view of someone who's never lld'd before can someone recommend a beginner friendly character that I could go with and enjoy?

LLD on ladder is expensive and has mostly bad players
LLD on nonladder is cheaper, with (mostly) better players and a more even playing field since almost everyone can afford to finish their characters

However, ladder also has more players and bots so finding the gear and players in the first place can be faster.

Blizz/trap/charger/Libby/bow/plague at level 30 are the easiest characters for new players to learn imo

while items are cheaper ladder llds can be poorly equipped and still compete. plain 15 lifer builds work well in that meta. but to make a complete good char its far more expensive

the gear advantage on ladder is staggering though

riox's sancorro trap claws only gave him like 5 extra average trap damage and like 1 extra mindblast damage after pvp penalty/resists
He also had about 60 life more than other trappers because he used 5% frw scs

Compare that to ladder chars getting 500 mana from their scs vs 15 lifer chars or being able to survive 1 charge vs 2 charge

oh yeah there's always a few mass botters that are willing to drop 10-15k on a char they suck on. for years there was always a share char on ladder that even subpar NL duelers could hop on and run games easily. andy ran a sumo dud on ladder with some success lol.

the takeaway point i think is that pcrown/sojs/string/spirit/whitstans builds with insight swap can still work generally on ladder, whereas on NL they're frustrating as hell and you can only really play them in matchups with advantage or short duels where mana pool isn't an issue. the gear advantage is big, but usually so is the skill gap.

lvl 18 dueling on ladder is different tho, its all CC charge/zeals... boring af.

I got kills with that summon dudu a few seasons ago and it made me want to uninstall

while that's true, bowa is still one of a shock summoners better matchups imo. if they're too dumb to use multi especially. goomshill had a legit guide on sumodudu in all the matchups, iirc bowa was near the top. whirlwind was the top top, using spirit of barbs ofc. his build would incur a lot of NKs though i'm sure lol

just imagine killing Riox's insanely expensive trapper on a poi dagger sin. on NL. that's real embarrassment.

He would probably lose to one of those trash lldpk players that never learned how to duel like amandab

There's really no excuse for bowa to lose to dudu. You have guided arrows and light fury

he may not be a dueling expert but he's an expert on getting kills in pubs with builds that shouldnt be able to kill anything more than a fallen. he's been trolling pubs for 10+ years on terribad builds.

excuses shouldnt enter into the conversation, no build has an excuse to lose to a summon dudu except a ww barb. even then 1 pt zerk and u can easily win.

all of my troll chars have zero, literally zero, advantage matches. but some are less disadvantageous than others. i designed my psn dagger sin just to one day make someones mouth drop that's on an ES sorc because she deals 90%+ HP in one shot. i have yet to kill a single sorc, and maybe only have 1-2 kills total.

goom does it on ladder, i do it on NL. we both find it fun to duel at a heavy disadvantage.
