Can someone who understands it in detail explain it to me with mathematical examples? I know it works when you have a (small) light/fire/cold source of damage, and that it lowers your damage... But how? Why? and can I calculate how much?

mdr subtracts from each type of damage, ie magic, cold, fire, lightning, and then the post-mdr-subtract damages are totalled with each other and summed with the physical.
while your damage is capped at a minimum of 0, the damage of each source before adding them is not. So if ur mdr makes your fire damage -28, and your physical was 50, you'll do 22 damage overall

so

damage = physical + elemental - (mdr * #of elemental types)

mdr will apply for each type individually, not the sum of all of them. so if you have 1 fire, 1 cold, 1 lightning, and 1 magic damage, and he has 40 mdr, you'll lose 156 physical damage

Thanks, so the more sources of ele damage, and the more mdr the opponent has, the more your damage loss?

sources of ele damage does not matter
types of ele damage matters

if you have 0 fire damage, mdr will not apply for fire damage. if you have even 1 fire damage, it will apply once for fire. if you have 10 fire damage charms, it will apply once for fire damage.

Exactly, more sources (for example) cold and fire cause more mdr. Less (Only fire for example) means less mdr then above.... Right?

If the opponent is using string + vmagi for a total of 28 mdr

You have a guided arrow that does 1000 physical damage

You are using cow kings and have 25-35 fire damage
using 2x soj for 2x 1-12 lightning damage (2-24)
A charm in your inventory has 1-2 cold damage.

Physical damage without ele damage would be reduced to 166.66 damage or 166.

Now, with the mdr glitch.

28*6=168 ele damage needed to just equal mdr.

We'll assume highest ele damage rolls

168-35=133 screen damage left
168-24=144 screen damage left
168-2=166 screen damage left

mdr effects all separately, and will take away from physical damage after it runs out of ele damage.

1000-133-144-166=557 screen
557/6=92.833 pvp damage.

So with three sources of small ele damage:
166 pvp damage becomes
92 pvp damage

edit: I found that last post interesting. pdr works the same way, but hardly any builds have low physical damage with high ele damage.

(listed physical damage * 0.17) - [(listed ele dmg * 0.17) - mdr given] = pvp dmg

[(listed ele dmg * 0.17) - mdr given] = mdr converted into pdr

just add a
Code
- [(listed ele dmg * 0.17) - mdr given]
to the equation for each new element
