I haven't been on much but each time I am, I intensely interrogate certain people to the point that it must be frustrating. I have my ideas which are all backed by strong circumstantial evidence - but nothing concrete.
e/ my evidence is based on:
people who had access to the acc: Narrows it
people who had (recently) previously stated they are quitting/need money aka a motive to sell: Narrows it
people who had a buyer - I think most OG can agree that the only buyer of this gear would be RPG. Nobody else would support a scam unless it was a totally unforseen rando hld or silent player. More likely, the buyer would have to be RPG. So in my eyes, those who were cool with or friends with RPG fall into this category easily as they would have a means to sell it. I also think there is evidence that RPG now has control of the accounts. RPG is known for impersonation scams. He has tried it multiple times and actually succeeded in one big-time scam when he got all of mikeyjd's gear. The person who scammed these accounts immediately attempted an impersonation scam on Ted, pretending to be me. This is literally RPG's MO. So I believe this to be circumstantial evidence that RPG is in control of the accounts now, which would imply that whoever scammed had traded it to him, further strengthening my ideas.
If you follow my logic, this leaves 2 people. I have called them both out personally and to close friends but will not do so publicly due to lack of concrete evidence. There is a 3rd wildcard also which I believe is equally as likely to have done this.
There is also the possibility that, after 10+ years without a password change, we have just forgotten everyone who had access. And the person is some random like harabec/rudipk who after some thought, did have access to both accounts but was afk for many years.
