Again, I'm dying to know why smite is BM. If I follow the LLDpk zealot guide, I won't even have smite as an option. However, some level 18's are willing to sacrifice damage on their main skill in order to get an additional complementary skill. That's what's referred to as versatility.

If I make a smite/zeal hybrid and fight Elusive's zealot, I'm already at a disadvantage. However, I gain an advantage against defensive builds in the process.

Hm, that's done with 16 smite and a crown shield I'm guessing. I never thought that would be more effective than putting skills elsewhere, but I use mine for everything I guess. Strictly vs zeal/conc that would appear to do better.

In that case, dusk + ring ftw.

If you're not finding any good rare rings with 2 DR, Cathan's Ring is a great temp.

i dont have a problem with smite at level 18 as its pretty underpowered especially vs. any zealot w/ duskdeep. last one to give me trouble was zolas' like 8 months ago lol and w/ duskdeep it was almost guarantee victory
smite at upper levels is way overpowered and shouldnt be melee; shit at HLD you can smite kill anyone now with the overpowered grief and fort.

as for lld a 30 smiter can be really good if used right in an open style setting, and will rape anything melee. thus its bm

level 18 is a big issue i guess; smiters will lose to zealots and jabbers but beat defiance zealots/conc barbs. im not sure bout kickers or other builds.

my kicker had a hard time with smiters, the knockback and the interruptability of my kicks was a major pissoff. i found if i just backed myself up against a wall i had a better chance. a range 5 wep was pretty much out of the question: without crushing blow im not doing much more dmg than the smiter, and he's hitting every time.

I used to duel Goky's level 18 kicker with my throwsmiter, and it wasn't even worthwhile for me to try to throw anything at him - Smite in general overpowers Kicksins who use Crushflange as their weapon. However, when we were thinking up ways around it, we went with 10 CB gloves and a Malice polearm. You'd be amazed how often the 10% CB procs compared to Crushflange. If you're dueling a pure smiter, you should be able to destroy them with that setup. Just don't let them get within range.

are u saying that the 10%cb from gloves triggers more then the 33% on crushflange? and is it posible to craft 10%cb gloves for lvl 15?

No, I'm saying that it procs more than you'd expect - Kicksins hit so fast that you'll get a few CB rolls early, and the diminishing returns make the gloves comparable to Crushflange over the course of the duel.

It is indeed possible to get level 18 crafted 10% CB gloves - 14 is the lowest possible level.

i wouldnt be able to replace the gloves on my kicker i dont think. bfists are pretty valuable. but that is a good option vs smiters i suppose. i pretty much just accepted defeat

sweet might try that on my 15 kicker at some stage.
