frost nova a non factor in 18 melee because deaths is so prominent. Either way though vs a barb u NEED viso, doesnt matter if ur CC or defiance, u absolutely need it, and cotas is the best for sure, cause that 30 more atk rating vs the barb, which is what youd use it vs, will go a long ass way.

I used multiple helms that had vis/5%/ar mods at lvl 18, but they weren’t better than 3soc, they just looked cool 😐

then you clearly never needed about 700 more attack rating than the 3os offered, aka you never dueled any good conc barbs.

you literally already admitted a defiance zealer would use it, since its got nearly 100 defense vs a 3os non eth helm and its what, 40? now you just need to come full circle and realize that the 700 extra attack rating vs conc barb which is your worst matchup, is helpful as fuck.

if you don't think 4k attack rating ++ instead of 3.2k-3.3k is good, then idk what to tell you because most 18 conc barbs are 4k defense before conc swing.
