Oh, and FMA Brotherhood of course. Should have thrown it into special mentions as well as One Piece. FMA Brotherhood is the most highly fan-rated anime of all time alongside Deathnote and Attack on titan, at least in North America (I watched it all and enjoyed it a lot, it could probably go 1:1 with SAO in my list on post 1). And One Piece is simply the longest running anime of all time. It's almost like a soap opera at this point. I read somewhere that just due to the length of time running (20+ years) and the target audience (asia), that One Piece is by numbers the single most profitable franchise of all time! But I am guessing that I'm just remembering that wrong tbh, not gonna look it up lol, butit must be the most profitable anime ever, I'd say cartoon also if not for Simpsons.
E/ I did check and it came in under several other animated projects so either that website or my memory (probably) are off. But still, One Piece has earned over 20 billions dollars haha! That's a lot for some (honestly) sub-par anime! I guess it's just due to staying 20 years in the world's largest market.
yeah you are definitely remembering that dead ass wrong, its not even close to dragonball franchise, and dragonball doesnt come close to touching pokemon.
pokemon is not only the highest grossing anime series of all time its the highest grossing media franchise of all time period, it beats harry potter and star wars even, with like 90 billion$
pokemon also has more seasons than one piece by 2 seasons and more episodes by a good hundred. one piece is definitely up there though.
also idek why you mention the simpson's they dont come close to any of these as far as money made is concerned.
and if you want to get technical Sazae-san has over 7000 episodes and beats out pokemon by a mile as far as longest running animes goes.
one piece is at 894 and pokemon is at 1066
and dragonball is the best selling manga of all time by only 20 million followed by naruto at a close 2nd and nothing else is close to them, one piece isnt any of the things you just tried to say it was lol.
