Most of us who do 18s on east are pretty chill. 30s are a different story, most are ok in game but the forums are a hot mess.

I have an 18 bowa coming from lad and am actually pumped to use her. Nothing crazy but works.

Roy was a bmer, I remember him whoever he let use his account slamming people with his c/t “FakeBids”. It encouraged me to make a pure charger to return the favor since I saw many folks get raged and s/e.

At this point in time, Paul, Asylum, and Noid (Noidenity) were forging together some nice llds, Ted had a defiance zealer (first I ever seen lol) , Adams punk ass and enjoi were trying to be tough guys on hdins.

Oh and can’t forget excellence/elusive bullying people on his 18 pally that he boasted about being champ for X number of seasons lmao

When I meet people who seem like they're interested in learning pvp and improving I do take the time to get to know them and gently nudge them towards nl whether I like them or not

I don't know if you've ever tried to lld on east ladder but you don't actually have more than 1-2 ladder llders in the entire season who meet that criteria.
You have some people who are decent but enjoy beating up children on ladder and don't want their opponents to effectively fight back (escl actually has a HLDer in that regard, egardner, who remains #1 dueler on escl simply because all the other duelers don't want to play ladder)
You have a LOT of people who only made duelers to begin with because their bots found a bunch of crap lvl 30 gear that nobody wants to buy
You have some people who make llds because it looks easier than hld (which to be fair is where a lot of the lld community started out to begin with)

I think it's more related to ladder in general. Ladder is a format where you throw everything away almost as soon as you've finished the char so it tends to naturally attract people who are more interested in building chars than getting good at them.

Good points Worry. I tried east ladder once towards the end of the season when I picked up gear for a half assed plaguezon from one of those mass botters a few years back. People seemed friendly enough although admittedly very bad. Im not that good but I don't think I dropped a round vs anyone.


Interestingly for me, and I presume for someone like thesnipa, building chars was one of the biggest attractions once I got into LLD. I guess liking to build half assed chars and liking to pick up that 1 item per season on ladder that might start or finish a nl char are completely different, yet both understandable, things.

yup 100%. i haven't been that into dueling ever, always been more on the theory crafting and building side. like when people ask why i like melee, because it takes no skill to click and hold, you can't make them get why you like math or messing around with 10 different builds and testing if they're the kind of person who just likes dueling. it either appeals to you or you're more of a copy a sticky build and get dueling kind of person.

i love cruising ladder p/c threads just in the hopes that i can catch the one items that is charsi for literally every other players on east except for me just before the OP charsi's it. Like 5 people say "that's shit, charsi" and my 10 fg offer looks tasty. meanwhile i'm getting a really solid lvl 12, 24, or 39 dueler item.

trevor got me a god tier rare poi dagger ring that way. it's like 10fcr/9str/xxar/poi charges / replife / single res. i'll send you a pic to be jealous of
