Is this LLD101? No.
I'm talking about the general consensus of every high end D2 player, not the ancient rule Knarl made many years ago.
Everyone that knows anything about D2 knows that smite isn't considered melee. Arguing otherwise is for noobs. It gets brough up all the time by pub randoms and the conversation always goes like this:
Noob: Smite is melee because I looked up "melee" in the dictionary and it means any close ranged attack
Me: I don't give a shit what the dictionary says
Noob: But read the dictionary, smite is melee!
Me: Smite isn't balanced with melee skills, it doesn't require AR to hit.
Noob: Websters > you
Me: The person who wrote the dictionary didn't play Diablo or know what skills were balanced with melee skills.
Noob: You can't argue with the actual definition of the word.
There you go rjg. I saved you some time from playing the noob part in this discussion. When you grow a brain and are able to understand that were categorize skills based on balance and not dictionary definitions then you can discuss.
kkbye
webster came before d2 though
Vouch. Dictionary pwned.
I offered the constructive criticism that many LLD's will consider smite a melee attack at level 18. (Actually, most people consider smite a melee attack because it's a close-range physical attack). If you want to duel this barb against other level 18 melee characters, you will run into smiters, or zealots using Smite and crushflange. I pointed out this flaw in the build because most competent level 18 duelers will know it and exploit it.
Rather than adjust the strategy (make it more offensive, adjust the skillset so you can use duskdeep, etc.), you immediately insult me. Fantastic guild. Do all LLDpk Archangles rage like you?
