nado is hard for charger, although still do-able. fissure is easy imo. just foh the summons and get 1-2 hits in. you won't need block so your dmg is huge.


90% of the hammers were quite ez, 1 hitting most, but if someone has a clue about what they're doing with a hdonk, it's a bitch.

drus/necs can be hard as well due to minionstack/walls. Though perz is the only nec I really had problems with (epic 5-4 in the semi-final ^_^ )

Hellskin charger was gg, but was still beatable with hammerdin.
I didn't even used charge vs him, just foh scepter.
Key to the win is annoy him with foh and make some defensive hammers. Defensive hammer, like someone said allows charger to attack when he want.
You need to feel where are gaps in your defense, and predict when charger will attack. Then 1-2 seconds before do fast and short repositioning
in the way which force him to eat few hammers (be careful to not get hit when you charge, and normally walk only).
It sounds like shit but it works.

It was like 70:30 for me, but as far as I remember hellskin told me he hadn't any problems with other hammerdins that time.

You can beat chargers if you time charges really well. The duel is hugely in the barbs favor though.


lemme put it this way then.

i know for the entire time ive had my barb that the times ive died to a charger can be counted on one hand.

I would agree. When dueling well equiped barbs that know how to duel, I dont think I would ever win ft5 on my charger. Would have to be lucky to even win 1.

I am currently remaking my charger to be more verstile by going with a c/t build. Using foh/conv honor divine on one switch, and sometimes insight, sometimes med honor divine on other switch (if block is needed/wanted on both switchs). Against ww, I will prolly switch to mostly foh gear and try to avoid ww's while waiting for the barb to run out of mana (which is rare on east lad cause most chug gallon size mana pots), and then charging some.

However, I am still looking for a nice pair of harpoons that I could use on a pure charger switch for range. With 30 ias, and decent dmg, these can actually be quite useful on switch when facing chars that are hard to charge (mainly ele druids if they have summons). A while back before I had decent charms and kinda crappy javas (not even 100 max dmg, but 30 ias and some other nice mods) I was doing around 1200 throw dmg on switch. With a decent charm setup, and a nice pair of 100+ dmg 30 ias harpoons, you could get some nice throw damage.

Lots of good discussion to read here, and since I basically never duel anymore it's nice to read up on strats. It looks like the dueling skill in LLD has come a long way. I noticed this quote though:
