its obviously better than a akod for certains duels like vs trappers , java's , light/cold sorcs

that would be also a fantastic plaq/bowa shield

Resist on the shield side only is useless.
FHR on the shield side is nearly useless.
So it's between 3 life rep and 1 socket.
In a fast paced duel the damage gain from 1 socket > 3 life rep.
The shield is probably only better than a akod on a pure defensively played plague zon, which is boring btw, and even that, if you really need the life rep that badly, try find one with 5 rep.
