It is my view that firewall needs to be nerfed in some way. My proposal would be max 1 hard point in any of its syergies. it still needs further testing however, and the only way to practically test it is vs perfect geared caster and melee opponents (i.e. nothing aside from an assassin can kill it currently).

I purposely still have nothing for assassins as the same principal applies.

both of these comments are for the watered down version. I dont mind shelving the tournament rules for now. a basic set of rules is probably a better goal right now.

In terms of tiered tournaments i would still go with my tournament rules (once I manage to get to a version 1.0) but I would have mini tournaments along side it (such as sorc v sorc, ama v ama, and 2v2 which i hosted in the past).
alot of ppl are asking for melee vs melee but im inclined to let someone else carry that torch, alongside your tiered tournaments.

"General Pub Rules" :

This to my mind is the basic minimum set of rules I can think of. I'll reach out to the wider community to get their views on it (i.e. those that avoid this website).



"Specific Tournaments (hosted by me)" :

This will, for the time being be the basic minimum set of rules for tournaments that I host.



I'll let this topic die now. If anyone wants to make any further comment go ahead, but I have now untracked the topic and have moved the conversation elsewhere, so if you want a response from me, let me know.

Looks good for a start.
But you forgot to put cyclone armor can't be recast in pub rules. That would be way too op to allow recasting it.

I didnt forget that. alot of players see it as GM. For the general pub rules, its completely unfair for certain classes, but so are alot of other things by their omission. What this is, is the minimum lowest amount of rules that can be accepted. cyclone armor is not unfair vs all, its just unfair vs certain classes. remember, this is version 1.00. Consider it the starting point. you will see that for my tournament rules i have banned recasting it, as yes, I agree with you. my tournaments are designed for each class to have a reasonable chance of winning. the pub rules are for a basic set of rules that people can agree on, regardless on whether they are sufficient or fair for each class.

For assassin players, its still alot of play testing to determine if this is too little or too much, but for sure something had to be implemented for now (i really dont care if people disagree with me on this, time will tell).

I have a lot of experience playing a wind druid at 30, and I'm telling you with 100% unbiased certainty that being able to recast cyclone armor is broken as fuck.

i think you missed the part where i said I KNOW THAT lol. maybe move this convo to the other place and get some more opinions (you can tell from this thread that most contributors are not able to be impartial or objective). If we can get consensus there I am more then happy to ban recast cyclone armor.

Then change it lol. No elemental caster except a vita fb will ever kill a druid that can recast cyclone. Just put on some rep life, and stack mana. Nado costs almost no mana, nado druids are not mana extensive at 30. I wouldn't even need to recast oak, it would be a waste of mana since CA just makes me invincible. Even fw wouldn't stand a chance of breaking CA.

recasting cyclone might gimp matchups that deal little ele dmg over time.

wof trapper without mind blast would never be able to kill druid. probably similar problem for blizzard, lightning, foh, fissure.
