Its sub optimal in the current climate of the game to adopt "may only bo (and shout) self" noting alot of players dont have good gear/charms and are thus very mana and ar constricted. On eu what we did in team duels was to have either a barb on each team or no barb on either team, but on top of all this we simply balanced the teams around if only 1 barb in the game. I appreciate that the east culture is different (i remember being in team duels this year and losing 17 times out of 20 - they didnt see the need to balance the teams. This was not new). If the overall culture of lld as a whole gravitates towards balanced team duels then there will be no problem with "barb may only bo and shout self", but the natural progression of that (where everyone is gm) would be to ban shout, noting it opens the door wider, for the fringe builds in team duels (and as stated I am all for diversity).

In the round, if "may only bo (and shout) self" is what the community wants I have no problem changing the Rule to that. It mitigates the problem somewhat in team duels, while (unfortunately) keeping barbs ahead of the other melee builds in team duels and 1v1. But it makes the duels shorter (both teams no bo'd) and its taking away from the support nature of barbs which is a loss to my mind.

I would welcome thoughts from the community on this point, i dont have all the answers for this one.

keep in mind that the rules youre working on will most likely only be used by you in your events.

people already adhere by their own ideas of what gm is. im being yelled at for using mind blast. people have max block on es sorcs. esfw sorcs max warmth. barbs use shout. there are no 31 shapers. palys skill medit.

This is all normal and expected. Rome was not built in a day.

agreed. youll probably have to reach out and partake in other lld medias.
a lot of people dont come on jsp at all due to its toxicity. and judging by what ive seen over the last 2 months, i dont blame them at all. hosting several events with the same rules is also a good way for people to implement them. i guess we'll see. its easy to have big dreams and its also easy to not see them through ><

Yes I had a chat elsewhere yesterday, you can review what i said there in the discussion section. d2jsp is toxic yes, and yes i fully understand why alot of players stay away from it, and from discussions like this. I dont disagree with anything you have said, and you are very helpful in the round. if everyone had this attitude we would be in a great place.

I can't wait to jump into a duel game with lvl 35 druids telling me my build is banned because some people decided that way.
Of course we need to focus on fury druids, we don't want them to be sub-par, right? ESFW is also very important, we cannot just outright ban a build, right? (WoF is very problematic though).

It's like a city council meeting where one guy keeps arguing the pavement in front of his house is the most important issue.

I really dislike the idea of deciding on a ruleset when most people don't even have playable chars. I would prefer imposing basic rules like "no pots", "XX rep max", "no eth without rep" for few first month and talking about other stuff when we will have actual feedback from more than 5 people. If that's a toxic attitude, then so be it.

id argue that most people have playable characters and play daily.

but i agree with you that we should start with bare minimum and no restriction, and IF something is too op or runs rampant and wins tournaments, then we revisit. adding rules by anticipation is a bad move imo.

let people build wof trappers and when enough blood has shed and people demand ban, we will give the plebean some bread
