I can code in 4 languages and i am currently programming an AI to predict housing prices across European markets. I dont do game design, but I understand that 1 synced realm would entail low latency related issues world-wide. It doesn't make sense programmatically to upgrade and then patch in 20 year old bugs. You do realize that of the millions of original players, most played pvm.
yeah dude, like i said i think our disagreement here stems mostly from your misunderstanding of how i am interpreting the word "accidental".
they have stated they plan to keep bugs that are popular, so for all we know the programming entailed could require them to do exactly what you think it makes no sense to do, simply in order to keep the magic of the game. they are definitely putting a lot of effort into this so that isnt something i find too far out of the realm of possiblity when you consider how bad warcraft 3 remastered was received, and the fact that they have saved the d2r for last, and for all we know the reason it was saved for last could be for the exact reasons you just gave as to why them not keeping synch makes no sense.
i just find it weird for people to assume all of this stuff, based on the stuff they have heard from videos. if they are telling content creators on youtube that they plan to keep popular bugs that are helpful to the player and not harmful, and synch/wsg are not the bugs they are talking about, then i will be very surprised.
