i think random matchups will be best, least vs most is not even fair imo ^^

i wouldnt put 1 vs 16 anymore.

i did that in my original tournaments and it gave 16th no chances. I did a compromise. look at some of the recent 49 tournments where there was a last 16 KO phase. (link to all previous tournaments in my profile or on 1st page of current 49 tournament).

The players should be rewarded for the qualifying (group) results but at the same time you dont want a mass murder, you want a certain degree of chance.

- i.e. 1 vs 9, 5 vs 13 etc. note that the top players dont play off vs each other in the early rounds granting them the higher probablity of proceeding.

yea, i had something like that in mind. divide the rest of the players in half or in four. then first of each group duels last etc. makes it much fairer for the players with lower ranks.

i remember one tournament when i posted the results that it was a massacre, all the higher ranked builds were the anti-char for each of their opponents. sometimes it just happens like that, and you can't do anything about it. you should always post the KO phase setup prior to the event as otherwise its biased and people will have a valid reason to complain.

thats why everyone in lreland hates the x-factor! it was supposed to be lowest ranked person KO'd but they wanted to keep Cher so they did a sing off and the "judges" voted and they kicked our Mary. = baised and not based on the peoples vote (score). i.e. they voided the scores attained by the users in the "group stage" after the 11th hour, because they didnt like the results. well, too bad!
