hmm yeah this could be true. but i love hybrid builds. i like confusing my enemy:)
ranged/melee hybrids are fun .
also u could use some 15 life + ele dmg scs . so u could make decent dmg with this. and u wont need ar boost from charms / jewels... its also ez to get some 10 fcr / mana rings with high ar..
~20 * 15 life + light dmg scs + ~20* 15 life + mana scs in inv would make that build soo uncommon and maybe usable..

Got a few Jewels that I'm not too sure about...
East Softcore Ladder... Pretty sure the LLD one is useable, but looking for a price check manily...
And as far as the others go, Not sure about MLD Melee so, Keep or Toss??

you gamble everything or just rings and ammy? cuz wouldnt the stuff sometimes be a high level because you're gambling with a high level character? or do you transfer the gold to a lower char and gamble?
