I’ll enter the jabber instead. It’s fine but this may be the only opp for the druid to show itself as I’ll likely be selling out shortly after this is done 😅

All up to you haha. I’ll try to host another one shortly after to keep it going. That way we have one more before D4

Wat u no like on it ??
Dammage i havent pc ... or i play it and creat challenge with different rule for change..
For exemple 1 where every charge ban , 1 other where mana potion ok , 1 where distance shoit is available and more different rule. For the challenge change and try make many tournament on many rule. For vlld need many rule playing for more challenge.
:(

Well, for one, does the sigon smiter below so good that the other classes can't compete?

Second, why can't werewolves recast? There aren't even any druid sign ups.

Is crushflange really that good? Why can't a throw barb compete if they don't run?

Everyone wears death's set, so why are cold damage charms banned? (I guess some wear sigon's, but shouldn't that just be a disadvantage to sigon's? Oh wait, you banned sigon's set too.)

What skill charges are you banning really? It isn't clear. And why would you?

You don't have to ban angelic's set because LEVEL 9 doesn't meet the level requirement.

Why ban Khalim's? It just sounds like you hate level 9 kickers.

Why ban a flawed skull in a shield? Isn't that the counter to kickers if you really hate them?

All in all, rules are meant to make as many builds as possible competitive, but now you've just made sacrifice and jab the only two skills in the entire tournament.

Appreciate the feedback. A lot of these rulings were covered from past events.

1. Smiters and kickers are banned in lvl 9 Melee.
2. Only sigons armor is banned. You can use all other pieces.
3. Wereform returns to human form at 1hp, keeping them from dying to a last hit while in wereform. Though they can continue swinging with normal attack. Recasting in lvl 9 melee essentially makes them un-killable.
4. Yes, the crushing blow is busted.
5. Throwing isn’t melee.
6. Ice bolt charges.
7. Cold-check in inventory is banned or else everyone would run 1 charm basically limiting the creativity of builds and forcing everyone to run deaths.
8. The is a rule that carried over from a previous rule set that allowed druids to level to 12 allowing fury and maul, but that was quickly pulled back. I can probably remove it at this point, good catch!
9. The ias from khalims makes druids in wereform unbeatable, even with the basically no other gear.
10. With the way ATD has changed in d2r, it procs on strike, not hit, so we had to set a hard limit at 6.

I’d be glad to take this offline if you really need additional clarification on each ruling. We’ve thoroughly tested everything here to foster diversity and creativity within the meta. All the players actually playing in the tourney understand why these rulings are in place.

If you have serious concerns about Jabbers and Sacrifice builds dominating the meta, I'd be glad to do a 10Kfg wager duel FT10. I won't use Jab or Sacrifice.

Just for discussions sake (I'm too new to have a say about rules)...could the lvl 9 character you are going to choose for yourself for this hypothetical bet against virtuous, beat your jabber or sac characters? (closest thing to apples to apples given the god characters you have at your disposal). Just curious :)

Just for discussions sake… you’re giving me way too much credit! My jabber isn’t as good as the other jabbers in this event. And as for my sac pally- it’s probably right on par with the other Sac Paladins. or would probably beat me though.

It’s going to be a close race for the top 4 spots.

1. I don't recall crushflange + dragon talon being able to beat the best jabber, but maybe I remember wrong.

Is smite still good with the D2R FHR?
Spiked shield does 5-9 damage times ~3.55 from skills. That's 17-31 damage or 2-5 PVP damage. If crushing blow is banned, that's about 100 hits (and 200 mana) to kill an opponent. How is that going to be good unless you also use the "Steel" runeword and constantly run?

4, 6, 7. Makes sense (except for a flawed sapphire in the weapon).
2, 10. Isn't 20 attacker takes damage equal to 20/6=3 PVP damage? With 3x jewelry with 1 DR, that's zero damage. Hardly overpowered and tough to argue it's better than an ancient armor.
3. Werewolf costs 15 mana to cast. Just be honest: the real reason it's banned is that players get salty when the druid recasts to werewolf--not because the druid has enough mana to cast it over and over again. I have no problem with it. Especially when you can only cast it [TOTAL_MANA / 15] times.
5. Why not allow ranged skills like poison javelin, etc. just don't allow movement or leap? You should do some testing because, in my experience, it's fair.
9. In that case, the rule should be Khalim's is banned in wereform only.
10. You still didn't explain why Gorefoot + 2x Nagelring rings is banned. If a belt has +1 ATD, it's banned too, so that isn't a very rigorously tested rule like you suggested. Jab gets penalized here for being fast-hitting/low damage, so this rule seems reasonable (unlike the 15-mana werewolf rule).

I'm not saying you don't have a character that kills Jab/Sacrifice easily (and if an opponent wears equivalent gear and not "pay-to-win gear VS mediocre gear", of course, they will lose to the meta skills)--I'm just discussing the rules laid down in this thread.

What you're saying isn't wrong. You make alot of valid points that apply to open duels. But when it comes to melee, there's a larger restriction on what skills can be used and whats considered melee.

Smite and kick are not banned in open duels. Open lvl 9 is loads of fun! However, this event is just a melee event.

During testing for ATD, it was determined that 6 ATD limit was the most fair due to the limited number of sources that one can actually obtain 1dr. Anything over 6, would require 2dr. There just aren't very many tech options within a majority of builds to allow for 2, let alone 3dr. Full sigons set brings atd up to 32, then with 2 nagels, 38 atd. This is probably 5fg worth of gear and it would stomp most of the field solely because of the ATD interaction with striking. Allowing this just doesn't promote a healthy meta, everyone would just run sigons set. Hell, we even tried a full sigon set pacifist necro casting amp (amp applies to atd dmg returned). It can literally stand there without attacking and everyone just melts, not just jabbers.

The recasting WW ruling applies from other melee brackets. Just keeping it consistent here in lvl 9 as well.

Hope this clears things up!
