My father in law gave me a bear grylls survival knife that can turn into a makeshift spear. TLDR; bringing that thing through US customs was not fun.
The landing card has a box for "Guns or knives" instead of individual boxes. So everyone at security thought that i had a fire arm in my suitcase.
Then when i told them it was a knife, one of the officers said can you show me? And as soon as i motioned towards my bag, another officer was like "DONT YOU DARE DRAW A WEAPON IN A MURICAN AIRPORT!"
So then i was funneled into another area where they actually checked my bags, and the person who was in charge of the inspection asked "if i open your bag, will i get cut". And i said, "Shit, i hope not"
But then when they saw the knife, they were like "That's it?" like as if i royally wasted their time.
