Agreed with both. Always been super torn on rep, Worry you’ve got great points. What you mentioned about positioning and patience, pace of the duel is all true. My problem is rep (esp at low level) is similar to a band aid and that it covers mistakes. Sure there are situations where you take punishable risks, and rep sorts offsets that, some weaker builds need more to function well, and many other variables I’m not stating. Ultimately though, an LLD duel has always been more of a “gentlemans Duel” and you must play mistake free. Respect to the opposition - I’m not going to life rep vs your successful techs. Rep does change the game in directions nonexistent without though, so that’s always great. Duels are more artful without rep and there’s this feeling of honor too. Before I get all d2 weird I’ll state that this is without a morning toke and I’m already lost in this post LOL. Not a worry, reporting back with some d2 philosophy later on today once this new dispensary gets a visit

i get what you mean. In HLD with everyone having tele the offensive kite chars dont really have the same effect as in LLD. and Hdin in LLD can attack while running away with impunity. so u can make a mistake and then offensively replife back to counter it, whereas in HLD u need to make a slick move to make up for the disparity in HP. Hdin really is separated from the pack in being able to do this but trappers really are similar. pnb necros can kite with spirits as well when running.

Always enjoy your posts xD
In the european leagues that originated in 1.09 and thus only sorcs could tele (much later ele druids were allowed to as well), the rationale was that whichever character has the best capability to play offensively, should have the lowest rep.
Es sorcs had the lowest, usually zero, necros the highest. Since i started dueling on jsp, i have pushed towards this - with quite a bit of resistance xD

As for paladins: any rep aura was banned in 1v1. For tvt, and only against teams with sorcs (!), 1pt prayer was allowed.
Might be worth mentioning that charging around without actually using it as attack (we called that passive charge) was not allowed with using vigor or rep auras. What people on jsp call 'libby' was considered bm for a very long time on europe (i still do xD)
