wow, 6 mods, non wasted and can not be replaced by any other mod except the damage mods, even that is in the high end.

This is the #1 lld item i have ever seen hands down

base - 100% (for the true highest dmg 18 wep [regardless of its restrictions class wise])

and on top of all that, it got 1 concentration a useful skill which makes it even a harder roll.


I did the chances in a thread long ago for a wep like this to spawn and it was upwards or 2.2 million/1

wouldn't a 3z/3c 5 sock zeal war scepter be better though?

not even close unfortunately in terms of actual damage per second

you hit the best 18 bp of 5 fpa with this wep, and don't have to use a twitch to hit it, thus it overpowers any possible gear combination available.


I did the tested theory in a topic years ago with all the math and calculations and that wep was the theoretical one we designed to make the best possible 18 zealer.

And now someone has actually attained it despite its 2m+/1 drop ratio

I'm thinking it just looks better on paper.I can see it giving you more options for which armor to use, so maybe it depends on which armor is used.

For example, in the pic it looks like the guy is using a 4 sock gothic. He gets more damage this way but loses 20 stats from twitch, and depending on which shield he'll have to put more dex in for max block because he won't have the 25 increased chance from twitch.

Purely talking damage wise this is better, but overall I think a 3/3 is better. Maybe when he gets all of his gear we can see the final stats. I believe sky ball has a 3/3@east, maybe they could test duel

The math gets really difficult once you start factoring in block % + any changes that speed might make in chance to block. I have found that the speeds seems to trump the added bonuses from a heavy skill based scepter. I think the closest thing would be a 3zeal/3defiance scepter with 5 sockets in a 15ed% base. Overall that eth/rep war scepter is incredibly good and would be hard to beat.

Yeah I bet. Still look forward to seeing a duel between those two. A lot of things look awesome on paper but fail to perform cause d2 is stupid

I don't really do matching, lazy and too many chars.

I only duelled a few hours with him (exams take my time atm), and with my gear so far he does very well. Its hard to tell what is best without having done a big amount of duels vs other zealers, but so far its fair to say it performs very well. It also opens up the option to use a high def eth/rep AA to reach high defense with a defiance build while still hitting 50% IAS. I don't have a 500+ def AA to test with yet though.

And no matter how it performs in duels i can still just look at it...

yeah I'm not doubting its a very sexy weapon at all, I'd just like to see it tested against that weap is all. If that scepter was on west I'd start liquidating some items so I could buy hahh
