i'm curious about the tournament system. are you doing swiss elimination for the group stage followed by double elimination for the ko stage? imo the more duels the better. ;)

Please note: This Tournament will be a group stage followed by a last 16 Double Elimination stage.

so top 5 from each group advance, (+16th overall).

and then double elimination last 16 (see wiki)

there are different types of group stages. so it's gonna be like the old one we did in tours 1-5 just with double elimination after the group stage instead of single elimination we did before? like this:

Code
Groups - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double-elimination_tournament
Like current ferdi tournaments, but knockout happen after second loss. Prevents 'class advantage', 'bad day' and 'today i have horrible lags' loses. I think ferdi switched now to this.
From mathematical point of view group system is very unfair, since your group can be horrible for you even if you are very good (i.e. only opponents with class advantage).

since you can make the groups fair that's the best system imo.

yes, same group systems as usual tours. in relation to the quote above, re: groups can be unfair, I have purposely gone for 3 groups of 10 in order to offset the class advantage that would have a larger impact in smaller groups. the numbers in each group should mean that while certain builds have a class advantage vs certain builds, the reverse can also be said. i have been careful to spread the builds between the groups as there is a wide selection of builds in this tour.

if in some future tour there are too many of one build, ill modify the groups accordingly to reduce their numbers in a ko phase. ( what i did with sorc's in previous tours )

I think for all future tournaments after this one, i will seed the top 10 players between all groups. i'll base this seeding on all players who have either won a tournament or how they have placed in all exisitng tournaments with the same character.

.care lol! get good!

ok, i can see your point. i might modify the groups slightly, put the libby in group 3, tfer a ama from group 1 to group 2, and maybe another small adjustment.

dont expect big changes in the groups though!
