I got into MLD back in 2003-2004. I figured out that Butcher's Pupil and small charms of Vita were req lvl 39 and decided to pimp out a character at that level. I did so because someone at the time wrote an article about pimping out a level 9 ts sin and were using it to pk people. I got my ass handed to me by a lvl 45 barb who I was trying to pk. He showed me his gear and he was rocking a three socketed cruel legend sword ( which at the time 3 chipped gems and a magical sword rerolled with three open sockets ). So I got into MLD and built a zealot. I eventually quit when .10 made my builds obsolete/my computer didn't run quick enough for casters.
I came back after a couple years and decided to work on a lvl 9 ts sin. I met a guy named Loki who had a lvl 9 jabber and he gave me the run-down on jewels. While dueling with my lvl 9, I would constantly see lvl 30s coming and going and having a lot of fun, and I constantly saw a guy named Laffz killing other llds with a lvl 30 bowa. For some reason they always stood out to me as one of the hardest llds to obtain, and decided to work towards building one. At one point my zon was running around with enough strength to wear an artisans great helm of the wolf with some junky max dmg jewels. It was awful, but eventually I saved enough unperm sojs to trade for a runedart. I remember Merl pissing me off with his barb running around with 150%frw. He would literally ww lock and glitch hit me every time.
The highlight of LLD for me was setting up the guest zons and it seemed like everyone had a lvl 30 bowa. Those 4v4 zvz games were some serious fun. Zons just duel so well against each other, and your skill can give you an edge over raw stats.
I actually posted some screenshots back in February.
