We were supposed to get an annoying amount of snow, like 3-5 inches, nothing to close schools but enough to make driving anywhere a bitch. But i woke up this morning at 5, prepared to snowblow off the drive, and found zero snow. Not a flake. Got into work an hour early, will get out an hour early, and roads all clear. Not a bad morning.

we had just enough snow last night to make the roads slick, little under an inch. so you know the first few guys are making ice for the people behind them when they drive, then when more people start driving on it it melts a little and refreezes constantly cuz its like 18F, so you end up with that patchy ice that seems to come out of nowhere and fuck up your day.

YUP same shit here with how the snow is drifting from wind. Worst part is by the time you spot the ice you can't touch your brakes to slow down. Just gotta hold the wheel straight and ride it out haha

"Jesus take the wheel" has to be midwestern in origin. I can't think of any friends or family member who hasn't ended up driving out of a field or ditch (or absolutley totaling their vehicle) because of that shit.

The only time i actually lost control i was lucky and was only about 6" in too far to pull out with my front wheel drive.

but my wifey hasn't been so lucky, she's been in the ditch every year for 3 years now. driving is not one of her talents.

oh i've lost control quite a few times, i just had it pointed the right way before hand, and i've always been able to drive it out without help
