IMO the suggestion for this matchup is off. Firstly, FOH isn't an easy matchup for barb. Its an annoying one where IMO the FoH pally has the advantage if he can play it properly and not eat stupid wws. Secondly, no, do not switch out your shield versus a pally. The pally has charge, no shield = no block. Even lowish dmg charge is gonna hurt in a lock and its death if you're low. Whereas if you're low and the foh gets ballsy he might charge in for a hit or smite and a blocked charge + ww could win you the duel or at least the encounter and scare him off.
Smiters are easy that's true enough, but add in FoH and its a harder matchup. Throwing poons wont make up that gap imo. I know when i dueled james with him on brawler me on shocker the duels were fairly even, because i got a few lucky charges in on dub throw side. But im also a terribad foh player because i have no patience.
Edit: but when i posted my shocker guide i first posted it without bold/red, got feed back, later added pictures, took the criticism into account, made changes, and reposted with bold. i'd suggest you do the same
