i always wanted to see what would win in the long term, a well geared decent def prebuff barb, or a def zealer (which i always believed to be the best zealer build)

never had anywhere near the time to test it, but my guess is it would be closer than most think.

I didn't prebuff either, but I had the gear just to see how high def I could get.

I actually messed with my gear on a defiance zealor before going back to conc barb. almost broke 20k def while still hitting 5fpa zeal with rare naga. problem is your ar is super low even with full invent of 3/20/15, angelics, and maxing zeal. I hit 6k ar I think. I was losing simply because I was missing just as much as my opponents were but I had less damage and less life. a high def fanat zealor is best and would be only char that could surpass conc barb if gear is godly enough.

ya i never had anywhere near the caliber of rares. my ornate was 1 socket lol, was too long ago.

i would last a long time vs skyballs def zealer but never packed enough punch to win any sets.

i had half 20 def - 15 scs / half max/ar/life scs. but could swap in 20 more def/lifer scs from stash
