sticking to a single element is fine, as long as there is a significant amount of that single element. to beat out the mdr of string + vmagi, you need at least 168 elemental damage of a single source

thats not hard to achieve with lightning (the top end of light dmg, anyways) but significantly harder with fire, and damn near impossible with cold
