well of course but for a bva/bvb build it works better than any other shield

not really, swordback shield is definitely the only choice.

8damage/sec lasting 8 sec. 50% chance casting. Say a close combat lasting 3 minutes, and half the time open wound working, that's 720 pvp damage. And that's the lower end of the estimation.
