honestly the formula holds true, if u want to host a successful event or tourney post a rule thread, give it one day, only make a few small changes and go with it.

rule by committee have people turned off before the tourney even starts. brief discussion on the well written rules u came up with already then go with it.

10 people for a doubles tourney might legitimately be an east NL record for the modern era. 100% its the most ive seen since say 2009. EU has better doubles turnouts, but even for them 10 would be a good field.

maybe consider not everyone is as concerned with the ruleset of a tourney as you are ked. its free. no one expects good wifi if its free. why should u expect a perfectly balanced tourney rule set in a tourney that's clearly designed to mimic HLD fpk to snag over HLD kids?

u got hung up on the whole "does it take skill" aspect, when in reality it was never that. its to grab FPK people into LLD even if just for one tourney.

i see the points of it, just doesn't appeal to me. if they do it and find they like it and wanna do actual nightly tvts with us then the more the merrier.

5 teams is nothing compared to what ive seen in the past. the recent past? maybe so good on them. i still stand by what i said, more would have signed up with regular rules. but if this idea is to try nd get fpk players to come to lld then cool, i only say this because i've played tvts with armadaJJ (brady) nd piwah (paul) and both of them were playing chars that wouldn't be legal for this event so it seems like, if you wanted to grab the fpkers attention then maybe allow chars the fpk ppl have access to to be legal? just saying. i did loan piwah a druid but the sorc he has built for spfraiders etc to use, would not be legal, nor would bradys hdin or the fb he is building.
