you're absolutely right, and my dislike of using telesticks has been around since that necro was made and the telestick was put on him. i was never able to get the timing to my own liking to make it feel smooth enough to use. i never liked using it, but it was there if anyone did. my distaste for telesticks in general grew as it became more widespread, and i still only think they have a use on ele druids with a situational option for barbs against overly defensive sorcs. and for me, i dont give enough fucks to take my time with overly defensive anything.

none of this has changed in quite a while. in fact, it was when sxtitan was getting more people to use them on east (not you, it never was you in the first place) that my wider opinions on them got cemented.

as for all the necs who telestomped and got kills? i watched mikey do it before anyone, and even then it got him killed quite a lot.

Tele is almost pointless on a non sorc for offense(other than druid)

Since theres that delay to weapon swap thats almost frame perfect or youll hear the weapon swap sound but it doesnt swap

when sxtitan moved over to east, along with IBzack and company on priv realms, tele sticks were loaded onto and tested for every build.

if you joined east well after that you wouldn't know, and we all know aj likes to talk about how sx was only a ladder scrub lol

at one point i remember zack (iirc) running a tele staff on a fucking rabies druid lol

the reason you don't see a lot of offensive telestomps on necs is it isn't really a godly strategy. matchup dependent for sure, but overall it's more of a surprise tactic than anything, ww has range to counter the wep swap, bone attacks dont. you can get good hits off with spears, spirits should all miss, and teeth is an auto hit but low dmg. ive seen it mostly to last hit. honestly think the best move might be tele stomp followed by a bonewall to get more consistent spear followups, by the time you stomp they're a few tiles away and can just weave out of spears. still works sometimes.

honestly tele staffs only worked on so many builds in the 2009-2010 era because of low FRW totals on chars, shitty amounts of str bugged frw, and lack of frw on circs. it all comes down to frw to make the wep swap viable. now adays chars are simply built better, and the frw speeds get you outside of stomp range for many builds. ww works because of range, nado works because pets cause blocks/dodge during the wep swap frames, etc

my tele zerk barb couldn't hit anyone with a low range wep, he was better off taking a few shots with the staff to avoid swap frames then gauging what they do post stomp.

who was it who had the cs zon with a tele stick? was it cadagan?
