indeed what brad said. 75 str stealth build > vmagi and losing a lot of dmg for 125 build

more mana efficient, more slippery, more hidden str bugged frw, more dmg per spear/spirit, etc

and if you're not well versed in LLD duels always lean towards the more mana efficient option. things like 125 fcr necros and low FPA zons are tricky to balance without losing so much dmg that it's not worth it. i would only ever think of running 125 fcr on a necro in spear vs spear nvn, and even then the frw u lose might not be worth it.

At 125 your spears dont do enough damage to fhr so the extra fcr doesnt help at all really

Ya that would def kill the 125 build altogether....

125 is better vs casters
75 is nice vs barb/zon

My nec has both, if you can make both set ups then go for it, but it usually requires 08 boots.

I won't be using spirit much, so I'm not horribly worried about mana either way, but I was thinking 75 anyway so I could use bfist or sojs? idk...I am going into this build 70% blind.

Yeah stealth is the sneaky item people don't think about

vmagi = 30 fcr, stealth = 25fcr, 25 fhr, 25 frw

so u can use 1 item to get 3 "breakpoints" at the cost of 1 skill and some MDR

even though FRW doesnt have bps u still need to get to a set amount for each char to be viable. additionally since u can make stealth in ANY base u need to based on your str total to str bug it = 25 str bugged frw

so no matter what boots u use u can find a base to match.

stealth + nats boots were commonly used on Euro and west for years, but never caught on in East for some reason.

you might also find u use spirit a LOT, most good necs do. although the best ones snipe with spears a lot too.

ive only ever bothered with necro for spear only nvn matches, and that was in 2009. so im not the best source in any case LOL

but i like 125's cast speed more, even if 75 is more life/damage/frw, i much prefered the casting speed

dont think my nec used a bad bmana at all either, if it did then just 1

yeah nvn is a very linear boring duel, but there were guys then that were slippery as all hell so it was fun.

i would guess for any nec coming over from HLD the timing of 125 would feel more natural.

did u rock an insight on swap or tele staff? and did u have to use it often?

necs have the nice ability of being able to regen mana behind a bonewall or whilst the opponent is carrying a big spirit train. and this seems to be a ladder char build request, so insight will be used a LOT in any case.
