aff, i just lost my input, but pretty much was taht there's no legit jewels around good enough, and ppl hate on duped jewels. um is always good, never nerfed by dr and whatever. i still think people overlook it. As I said, i'd rather use an oath and save the fg if i'm just going for damage - my point was that it's a nice way to pull some OW into the char



is damage jewel better? probably - in theory
overall? i'd probably prefer UM anyway.

you also forgot to keep in mind that it's often dual wielding - only one sword can trigger the OW so it's 12.5%

OK nevermind everything I said. Based on reading previous posts I thought OW did 48 damage at level 49 compared to the jewel adding an average of 19 damage.

In fact The 25% chance of OW proccing was already factored into the 48 damage number (OW actually does 192 damage at level 49) so my post above is not very relevent.

The jewel still might be a better choice due to the other benefits it grants, but it's not as obvious as I thought.

well, i didn't even bother calc. i always said it's overlooked. it's doing a really raelly good job for my 49 v/t, if you want to see the exact dmg taken i'm up to smite you on my v/t

avg 1hand pvp dmg of a barb using oath hb is around 450 (includes 23%cs, 15%ds), which get's effected by dmg reduce
um gives 48 avg pvp dmg

so if u face an opponent with 45% DR, um rune adds nearly 20% dmg
no jewel will ever come close to that

some duels u might not even hit. its pointless doing dmg over time and 4kww dmg if u dont have the hp/frw to have the chance to hit, with a jewel this allows u to use an exra 3-4 frw scs and still have same life, also gives u 100%dmg not 25% chance of small dmg from ow, the only use of ow is vs nec/es sorcs vs anything else its useless in my opinion

Open wound is better vs all opponents.

That's because you play euro and ban any and everything (tele charges for example). Regardless, talking about what is best in a weapon shouldn't be discussed in the trophy room.

ow is really good in many matchups (mainly bvb) because theres gaps in between hits where the ow can take full effect

this is more relevant in hld though where ow does a lot more damage

i find it funny that you of all people would say that, considering that sword = bvb'ing = Um socket, period. Oath is better for a bva/bvc sword, hands down, when compared to that

magic abs
50 ias (better for zerking/conc'ing) + spirit chance on hit w/ those
HoW + Golem charges, if you use them, though on the eth ones you cant get more charges, sadly.

if you're talking about using that rare sword for bva/bvc'ing you're plain dumb.
