nec's can use tele staffs too.
remember as well that barbs and ama's are very gear dependant, while nec is not. so well, nec >> barb/Ama for now.

Nec is not gear dependent? 20fcr 5 spirit wands without shop bots are not particularly common. Not to mention even a basic rhyme nec head with skills is tricky. Yeah you can get by with spirit sword but that just makes mana issues even more troublesome.

Incredibly mana heavy, needs good main and offhand to get decent damage, will be slow af without a half decent inventory.

I dont see nec equivalents of the likes of bloodletters, rogues bows or peasant crowns lying around too much.


Anyways, its all early days. I lost interest in tournament duels a long time ago so I dont have strong feelings regarding future rulesets. I have always been a fan of common sense when it comes to rules for pubs. It was a shame to see nice bowa items with amp or kb not see daylight. Just shuffle around teams or chars if its proving a bit bothersome and continue to have fun.

A spirit weapon + whitstans will go a long way for now Frank. everyone is in the same boat.

barbs cant afford a good invent, 750 for a 3/20/15 ??
bowa' can no longer run around dissapearadonging and i have seen only 3 superior ashwood bows for sale with 15ed 5 sox.

bowas need 3 jewels in armor, 2 in helmet and at least 1 in bow for damage.
nec's dont need damage jewels. i.e. x6 24 maxers, and there are not alot of 24 maxers.

a nec can use x30 15 life plains and x10 3 frw plain. sanders (sigh, yes sanders now), stealth and a random 2pnb 30frw circlet. that and / or a tele staff.
most of the east players probably will go pure life charms in invent i think. pretty sure nec>bowa right now.
you losing 3 skills if ur using spirit and 5 from shield and 2 from not having sojs.

honestly it all balances out.

At lvl30 with that gear thats less than 380-432 damage per bone spirit at at a cost of 15 mana or so per cast? Thats assuming now that amp is allowed you dont have 1 point in that for tvt

Also, that comparison is a bit sensationalist no? Necs can get by fine with a 10fg runeword but my barb cant spend 30k on an inventory!

I mean, early doors you are looking at cheap plague zons, paladins and sorcs anyways which are going to be far stronger than anything else anyways but lets not pretend a budget nec is good when you can just run away from his bone spirits for 30 seconds until he is out of mana and the duel is over (allow pots and make that 2 mins or so maybe).

I stand by that I think a barb or bowa with plain 15max jewels beats a budget nec (although the bowa duel could be a painfully slow one if neither want to lose).

Maybe tele will even it out early doors. I mean, sure you will be chugging pots like crazy, not to mention kb is so accessible to a zon now and mdr on strings reducing already low damage and the zons passives...

And going back to the barb, stomping him aint gonna be wise.

Its fine. I mean, necs dont have to be viable day 1. I only brought this up in the context of power creep. Some matchups will just get even more unbalanced if you throw the doors wide open.

I was truly revolutionary on necro

Bought a nec off burdendoomsday for like 600 late in a ladder season and bigmoth was rocking spirit a tele staff with life mana gcs etc and a bunch of basic shit. Mass mana and ended up being an absolute force tbh

The thing is, any amount of skill points into bone spirit are such a huge boost. Even a basic nec on old d2 would include 2 sojs which makes a big difference.
