Its heavily reduced based on resists. Nearly useless.

Yeah, sure, but why are otherwise very good items less desireable or even useless with ele dmg mods?
I understand it's a wasted affix, I don't understand why it's a dealbreaker.

Because most people who lld love to min-max. If they can easily get better, they will go for it. Now, if it were poison damage that a totally different story. Just kinda how it goes.

Mdr bug, ele damage in tiny amounts when reduced spills over and reduces phys damage.

So 1-5 light damage can actually make you hit for less overall in lld.
