Both of you has sexy items, and sexy wand. but what i dont really get why these jewel choices?
i know life/mana is good to have, but in head eth is possible to soc, in helm skull. Also having ~20% dtm is a Must on all lvl 18 chars -as i experienced-
so on a necro (and a lof of other casters on 18) the only possible way to get it (dtm), is your weapon (becuz of the thing i wrote 1 line above)

but i might be wrong, as maybe the manapool/regen is good enough even without (or with low) dtm?

you are right that mana could be better and dtm could be better as well. I have 2 skulls in helm and 10% regen from belt also so it's not so bad with 500 mana.
