i have had little or no input on the 30 rules, you all should remember that i was the 49 person, not the 30 person. the fact remains that the 49 rules, and the 30 rules by others, were modified over the years to promote balance. The 49 rules are to my mind balanced noting the results are a record to show that each class can win a tournament. At 30 on euro, ctc amp and kb have never been allowed. east has always had far more lld'ers then eu, but you have not had tournaments over there and the emphasis has not been on balance but rather on making a character as strong as possible. The running mantra for years has been lol euro with its bible of rules, but its that bible of rules that gives classes a realistic chance of getting a result.
As stated in previous 1v1 tournaments, if players dont like these rules, they can agree between themselves to compete either in a different environment or with different rules, provided both players agree. the rules are for those players that either cant agree or simply bm, in which case the rules are used as an effort to enforce some degree of fairness/balance. are the rules perfect ? no. but very few things in life are perfect.
strong barbarian (w/o teleport) players have consistly performed @ eu, and back in the day they existed on east, and west. just because its not to your conformity does not mean that it is bad.
Maximizing builds to their limits and letting them fall into general tiers doesn’t make it unbalanced, every person in each tvt has a sense of what a balanced matchup would be based on who is in the game and what character they are playing, sure not every tvt is flooded with low tier chars but they still pop up and things even out. Rather than run a tournament with a fireball and a fury druid both competing for first, we would rather separate them into different tournaments because there is no set of bible rules that would even that matchup without teleing on a sorc, which is basically calling it a b tier tournament and you’d be doing exactly what we are at that point, but with no expanded parameters in the general tvt. Not everybody is going to pride out with a cube full of staves that’s for tournament play, 48 teles be efficient and pay massively for your mistakes
