I get that they are a very different class then all the melee characters, but they are far from unbeatable and characters should design their builds so that they can deal with a range of different opponents. I could also enter my 12 fber, which seems to be just as dangerous, but it shouldn't be. All you have to do is swap out 3 to 4 lcs to ones with the appropriate res to be on an even playing field for any elemental damage-based character. But I regress. I enjoy my melee builds just as much if not more. Especially the challenge of balancing them with enough damage, ar, defense, and res to compete with any character in the class.

And this wasn't meant as a diatribe against you Colbsies, I was just using your quotes to reference the topic of discussion.


Cuz IB always hits ... thats the whole dumb part about it. In other builds it requires some degree of luck as well as being built / geared well. Thats the fun part about it. Thats one reason why I ban smiters cuz they always hit.

IB does always hit, I can't argue with that. I guess the main point of my last post was that I'm not so sure it is the strongest build in the tournament. But I guess we will just have to find out.

I have no problem further restricting vllds. I am all for pure melee vlld tourneys, or even more pure strict 9 duels, or we can even go more restrictive and do bvb vllds or zvz :P

If you feel the IBer is too OP, I will gladly pull her from the tourney. Just lmk.

As for the bracket(s), will it be a round-robin within each bracket? Everyone duels everyone in their bracket once and then the top few move on? Or will there be a consolation bracket, with more of a double elimination style? Just curious on what the plan is. And by the way I am kind of impressed with the turnout we got, 23 characters entered is quite a bit. Way to go West.

ya, too bad they never bother to pop into pubs, then again half of the toons r mine/urs/adams n chips, lol

looks like single elimination within each bracket and winner moves on? will have to check with colby
