What would be a better shield? I thought my current Aerin was pretty good:

it's fine yeah but I wouldn't put anything more than 15 max jewels in there personally.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! I just put some 15max with rez in there for now. It will take a long while before i get my hands on 4x 18-20 max dmg jewels. By then a perfect Aerin should have arisen. :P

Because i am not sure i understood correctly:
Say I have a 2os grim shield and i want to put a +max dmg jewel on it. Will it work?

Is it only the %ed jewels that dont work correctly on shields/armors?

Ed% works correctly on any piece. It's when you combine ed% with +dmg in jewels that cause bugs

So if i use either only ed% or only +min/max it should be ok?

And if i understood correctly you can mix them on circs that have ed% with no issue?

Exactly. Even if the item has innate (base) damage or ed%, as long as your jewels are all the same and contain only one or the other, you're good.
In general, +dmg is better on lld chars
