This guy knows whats up. Iirc eth rune was also bugged in weapons to ignore def . Or at least thats what everqyone thought

it was indeed, though that didn't apply to vlld. When you had it, it used the wrong formula of defense = %defense * base, instead of defense = (1+%defense) * base. So your 3000 defense would become -750 defense. Every 30 or 99 bracket melee build had eth in their weapon

I remember briefly mld-ing on east (59 lvl cap at the time lol) and everyone used eth in weapons. I mained a bowa though for that sweet sweet missile pierce.

casters after 1.09:
get +500% overall base damage and -100% enemy resists and +5 skills and hit breakpoints easier

bowazons after 1.09:
get -80% overall guided arrow based damage and knockback
ctc and attack modifiers removed from multi

I mean I do play v1.09 with others so the builds will be viable
