For the record, here is the comic book backstory to this epic confrontation:

AJ trains hard in some sort of akward training montage. Several episodes later, AJ slays 321 with his masterful crane-style technique.
The plot thickens when 321's discipel Avenged321 arrives in California...
Season 2 was cancelled by Netflix, so thats all we get
