i agree on some of your points, but there is a big difference in hld (as it is played nowadays - it was very different in the dueling leagues that originated in 1.09, obviously) and mld: teleport
much how duels are decided depends one skill: how quickly can you namelock
from what i've seen, duels without teleport offer a lot more variety, and i would not say that mld has a similar duel style as hld at all. that is why i always preferred not to see any teleporting characters apart from sorc and druid (if you want teleport, i don't understand why you don't hld)
the only similarity of modern hld and mld i see is the small room for error. that is why i prefer mld and dislike 9/18. 30 is sort of a compromise between being able to get duels at all and duels that are enjoyable.
either way: seeing as how few people and characters are left, the idea of bringing them together in one place is cool and i'll gladly participate. my friend kevin is also around, perhaps he can also join us. he plays well on ama (an east vs euro 2v2 would be cool
