pure smiter is a fool's game. you have to hybridize to make an effective char. paladins and assasins are the two best hybid classes in the LLD bracket, due to their general kit (charge, medi, burst of speed, mind blast,d flight, etc)

zons can be hybrid classes as well due to how OP ga is at that level when combined with plague.

but for a pally you want to gain as much utility as you can from swaps and automods on gear.

Vigor: spending a hard point here can be worthless with tearhaunch greaves in the game. you get a bit of res, something cow kings and sanders lack, vigor, and 10 stats. as well as frw. its a must have stash item for tvt, and helps synch easier if you need the help there.

Meditation, Holyshield, Zeal: all 3 of these skills are must haves for a pally hybrid. Zeal isn't that expensive to hard point, but getting it on a Scepter can be a great save in points. I generally build my scepters on a build around holy shield however, because its expensive as hell to hard point. On a smiter however, you're likely maxing that. So perhaps look for a Zeal/Fant/XX divine honor. Meditation can be gotten by an insight on swap, but medi on shield side can be an invaluable asset.

FoH/Conv: with both being lvl 30 skills you're not losing a lot by not hard pointing them. having a spirit shield and a 5 foh/conv scepter, or my preference an honor for the replife and 10 str for gear swapping, is a must.

I dont know where the hard pt prayer shit came from tbh. it was like i woke up one day and it was suddenly allowed, but no reasons were given.

back in the day kids complained about how it was itemlame to have a medi stick scepter and it was a barrier to entry, and still it wasn't allowed. then medi honors became readily available and still hard pt got allowed.

i'd be fine with it if they weren't allowed any rep, as in zero. but even then they can still outrep everything.

im just going to blame AJ and Adam, without any just cause.

I am a supporter of the zero rep allowed on anything but honor, and prayer allowed.
Without prayer you have to use tearhaunch. I would under no circumstances, ever use tearhaunch.

0 rep is 0 rep. Honor has rep, so honor is gone if you want 0 rep.
If you want to allow honor, just have the rep cap be the same as honor's rep and disallow 1 point prayer. I don't see a problem with allowing 15 rep/no prayer, since that would let you use staples like honor, spirit shroud, manald, peasant crown and still allow both offensive and defensive playstyles.

The bracket is way too old to be making rule changes now, but that would be the way to do it.
