ya it was to max def on a lld not to make a balanced dueler. i also had nats in the inv which have like 9 more def. i was diso a pair of eth rep war gaunts but never could find any with anything but eth/rep/90+ ed

q1: You could use rare ammy and 2 x rare rings if your getting enough ar from jewels/charms/gear. 7k ar is the bare minimum and even then you're gonna be missing a lot. remember if your ar is equal to their def you're already at 50% chance to hit. 75% of those will get blocked. your landing 1 damaging hit for every 8 swings. here is formula:
Chance To Hit = 200% * {AR / (AR + DR)} * {Alvl / (Alvl + Dlvl)}

-since our levels are equal the formula gets reduced to Chance To Hit = 100% * {AR / (AR + DR)}
when your ar is half of their defense which is usually the case you're at 33% chance to hit. include block and your landing only 1 damaging blow for every 12 swings.

q2: remember that damage on honor is very low and you swing at 13 fpa with honor and IKs. Your getting crit from weapon mastery and considering you should have at least 20+ average damage more from a rare and swinging at 11 or 10 fpa your dps will be much higher.

q3: amp is allowed and if I ever find an eth/rep/ias/ctc amp naga I would use it in a heartbeat.

Mine got up to around 35k defense but it was a crappy build that focused on defense way too much.

+5 shout, sojs, ammy, myth prebuff?

I know clifford had an insanely high def barb but it obviously was all eth/non rep gear, as was his tendency.

No +3 shout on my helm, but yes to the rest.

I'm not a big fan of prebuffing. I understand on a ww barb with telestaff on switch but I find it annoying and time consuming. It's probably worth it though and I'll try it out once build is completely done.
