How viable is this build?

And has anyone made one? Im thinking about making one but not sure if its worth pursuing

Im not expert but in my opinion these two skills have totally different synergies and would require a lot of skill points + top gear to be good. You will probably end up with low hammer damage and low foh damage.

Not worth it

Best hybrid builds for lvl 30 pally are these
Hammer/Charge
Smite/Charge
Smite/Foh

Hammer with charge is better then foh stick on swap to finish


Ive seen pure foh charger and it wasnt bad but the foh dmg even after patch is weak

did you have one of these at 30 or was it MLD ? cant remember

I had both and both lvls are viable.
What you have to decide is: are you a pure mage?
As soon as you try to introduce charge dmg this build falls apart (useless you go mass str build for devine).
When I made mine I went without charge dmg and used 2 x magic scepters 2pcom/3foh/3conv and 2pcom/3hammer/3conc.
For skills I didn't skill foh or conv, simply maxed holy shock and then focused on hammer. It worked very well.

The hammer and foh dmg is decent

zeal charge on d2r is also very strong.

as are toolkit dins, or swiss army knives as i call em.



nah you can introduce charge dmg and it works brilliantly tbh, just dont care for crap about how much foh dmg you have, i would put 0 pts in holy shock tbh, id go pure hammer/charge and just make sure ive got a foh/conv/medi scepter on swap.

as long as your opponent has GM liferep, even low foh dmg will chip away 10-20 at a time or some crap which trust me, goes a very long way. then you are also not sacrificing much if anything in order to have that foh but maintain the charge and hammer dmg you would normally see on one.

it's not really "mass str" either with divine, ur just going what, 30-35 str pts higher? you wont lose much life at all. plus thats the ideal weapon anyways, you want that dmg. only thing better would be an eth rep rare high ed with all the perfect skills and that will probly never exist.

2 things i see:

1. chum was i believe saying u cant have high charge dmg, high foh dmg AND high hammer dmg. u have to pick 2, which u agree with in saying go hammer/charge with tickle foh.

2. divine requires 103 str, war scepter 55 using eth frosties as well. so unless im forgetting a piece the str gap is 48 assuming not using tearhaunch or something. bit higher than 30-35 but not insanely higher. at that point tho many might want to have a setup for part insight as well.

What makes charge/zeal good in d2r? I thought you needed the desynch to catch people.
