I'm building a lvl 18 zealer and just read something about a jewel bug.
Not sure if I understand correct. Is this still a thing in D2R?

I have a 4socketed Aerin shield with 61 enhanced damage and a jewel with 15max damage + ehanced damage.

What will happen if I put the jewel in the Aerin shield?

You can safely socket paladin shields and circlets with enhanced damage. The bug occurs with jewel mods.

Only use enhanced damage + damage jewels in weapons 99% of the time.

Ah I see, so I better get my hands on some 20max jewel then for the Shield

Get a better shield if you putting 20 max in it

rule of thumb - ed/max jewels are only for weapons

In your shield the ed will not apply to the max damage, only the min damage. Can't remember but it might actually negate the base ed too

2nd part is false, base ed doesnt get bugged at all if jewels only have +damage
