Hello, and welcome to JP's first high stakes ironman tournament!
Ironman, if you are unfamiliar with the concept, is a tournament where a single game of people create new characters in hardcore, level up a specified level (almost always 9), and then duel each other (usually in 1v1 duels) until only the winner remains. I want to host a high stakes ironman tournament, with each participant (myself included) wagering a large sum of forum gold, specifically 1k FG per person.
First things first: DO NOT SEND ME FG. I don't want to hold your FG. While I was still trying to get mod approval on this about a month ago, Linny said he would judge/hold the FG, as he is a trusted member. I'm assuming he still will be, as he'll be awarded a 5% portion of the prize money for overseeing it (350 FG). I just received mod approval on this from zackaria_dki, on the conditions that the rules are clear and we have a trusted member overseeing the tournament and holding the FG. Please wait to post until mod zackaria has posted.
Now, onto the rules.
Security/Anti Cheating:
FG entry fees will be sent to the trusted member overseeing the tournament, Linny, prior to character creation. Linny will remain in game on a level 1 character (To prevent shopping/restocking before level 9 and to oversee the tournament), so seven player slots will be available. Linny will keep a small percentage of the tournament's pot as payment for monitoring the game without participating.
All characters must use a character tag (prefix) in their name, to verify that the character they have made is new without any items/gold. Linny will give us one letter and two random people will each give us a letter, so multiple people are in control of tag creation.
All participants must add each other's accounts before character creation and add Linny, to ensure that no one enters another game before beginnning the match. Do not remove any participants or Linny, this is grounds for disqualification
If participants drop from/leave the game for any reason, all other members must wait in town until they return. Members remaining in game will be asked to use the "/f l" command to ensure that the leaving participant has actually had some sort of technical issue of some sort, rather than leaving the game and removing other participants from his or her friendlist to stealthily join another game.
Anyone found using any hacks/cheats/etc to gain an unfair advantage in duels will be disqualified.
Character Creation/Skills:
All participants must stay in the channel once they make their character with the tag, and everyone must join the game at the same time once the name/password is given.
No items or gold may be muled onto the account.
Caster attack skills are banned in duels. A caster skill is defined as any skill that uses FCR, and is a direct attack.

Examples of Legal caster skills:
Amplify Damage
Inner Sight
Spirit Wolf
Summons may not be recast during duels, excluding ravens.
Bone Armor may not be recast during duels.
Banned skills:
Smite
Prayer
Poison Javelin
Leveling/Pre-dueling gameplay
All characters must leave town at the same time.
Characters must stay partied until everyone is finished leveling.
Characters do not need to stay together while leveling.
There are no claims on drops: the item/gold belongs to whoever picks it up first.
Characters must all enable loot towards everyone else before leaving town.
Characters may not unparty each other for any reason, until everyone is ready to duel.
Characters may not complete the Horadric Malus quest, or the Andarial quest.
All characters must immediately go to town upon reaching level 9. If you have no TP scrolls, you must immediately quit the game and quickly rejoin.
Once a character reaches level 9, Linny will leave town (Allowing restocking by level 9's in town)
Participants may trade once they reach level 9.
When participants are ready to duel, they must let everyone know they are ready and wait outside of town in the blood moor. When the first person finishes preperations, the other participants are given a restock limit of three restocks per person. To restock, you must ask the other participants to leave town for your restock; the individual who calls for it reenters town first.
Dueling rules
Health and rejuvination potions may not be used; mana pots, however, may be used.
Throwing potions may not be used while dueling.
Mercs may not be used in duels; if you have a merc, have someone else kill it before you start dueling.
If you town during the duel and your opponent wasn't breaking a rule, you are disqualified.
Characters must stand in place while dueling.
Cold damage may not be used in duels.
1v1 Duel matchups will be decided randomly, by Linny; any player attempting to influence Linny will be warned, then disqualified if the suggestions continue. If we have an odd number of participants, Linny will randomly decide who is given a by for the first round.
Duelers must both say "G," "Go," or "ready," before starting the match. After both duelers confirm they are ready, Linny will give a 3-2-1 countdown, and the duelers may commence fighting on the word "Go."
Upon winning a duel, the loser must wait until the winner has looted his or her corpse to leave.
The losing participants may join on level one characters to watch the duels, but they must stay in the blood moor the entire time.
Winning players may re-enter town after dueling to heal/buy mana potions/use excess gold from the loser's loot.
After the dueling is finished, the remaining winner must stay in game for a short period, and show his gear to Linny. Linny will tell the winner when he can leave, and will send him the FG prize.
