I am considering hosting a lvl 30 melee tourney on East Non-Lad I will be donating fg toward a prize to generate interest. I first want to judge if enough players would join and discuss rules/format.
Better make sure those index fingers are worked out to see who can hold their left mouse click button down the longest.

Format: Double Elimination vs. Round Robin

Double Elimination: Would make for a shorter tournament but some people could complain that they're char got paired unevenly in the beginning and yada yada yada.
Round Robin: Could make it point system based. I like that everyone has to duel everyone. Ensures the best char wins. Only downside is that it could last forever depending on players.

Either format I'd be willing to do. I guess rounds would be FT 15? or could be less. But FT 15 I feel would make it as fair as possible. They're not going to last very long either way. Could get them all done in under 10 mins I would think.

Rules:
No duped items including perm dupes.
No hybrid runewords.
No slow

For debate:
Cold damage on scs or jewels.
Also what skills to ban?
What would be considered a melee and non-melee char?

Looking for any input.

Jokes aside I've seen like 10+ cfood nagas show up ft in like the past couple months. A lot of respectable llder's have purchased them including you I believe. If someone wants to spend they're cash on a 15 yr old game that's their choice. I personally wouldn't do it but, when they post said items ft on jsp and it upgrades my char you bet your ass I'm gonna bid on it just like all of you would.
I'm not hosting a tourney to see who has the deepest pockets. I've seen a lot of budget friendly peace using fury dudu and zealors wreck high budget chars including mine. Melee can be a roll of the dice sometimes. I'm just trying to do something other than see a zon, libby, and sorc duel each other over and over again. I'm actually interested in seeing unique builds like Andy's mauler and Jim's Kicker take part.

The problem with unique builds is they can't really compete with the 2 main builds in melee
