Intro:dedicated to all the n4ps in this topic:
http://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=44999718&f=143I'm not writing a very in-depth guide for this build, because it was my first barb, and it still isn't even really finished. There are a lot of people that could write a better guide for a barb than me, I'll just be going over the technique to turn your standard LLD barb into a tele barb
The build:gear = everything you use on a standard barb minus 4 small charms to put your cube in your inventory. Fcr on rings can also be helpful, I started out with zero fcr, and now I play with 10 and eventually I'll get another ring w/ fcr and hit the next frame. It's a minor difference when you just go for single jumps, but I like the extra frames for teleing after people.
In my cube I have 2x +2 warcry balanced knives to switch between the 4 slot tele staff (eventually I'll get some w/ amp or knockback), a +5 bo helmet, +2 wc ammy, and 2x sojs
The extra life from bo makes up for scs lost, and the balanced knives have actually come in handy when dueling some chars to finish them/pressure them and make them come to you.
The Technique:The reason this works is pretty simple: ww is instant. You can't effectively tele+switch with other builds because you have to go through the aftercast on tele where you can't switch weapons, then once you switch you can start your casting frame (usually ~10 frames). With ww you only have to worry about the aftercast on tele because once you switch, you can "cast" ww instantly.
Here is the method I use to do that as quickly and consistently as possible:
teleport hotkey: doesn't matter
throw/unsummon hotkey(preference for locking): near teleport
weapon switch hotkey: mouse wheel up or down
you should always have ww up on your right click on axe side
teleport
switch to unsummon/throw hotkey and keep holding down mouse
switch weapons and boom, you're wwing
the biggest trick here is the mouse wheel as your weapon switch hotkey. There is a slight delay after you teleport when you can't switch weapons, so instead of mashing your weapon switch hotkey until you switch, you can just give the wheel a good spin and it will continuously attempt to switch weapons, and as soon as thats possible it will happen.
Heres the video for the non-believers/those who wanted to see the barb in action. Theres no sound so play it to your favorite song, I recommend Little Wings by Mark Gormley.
as usual, question/comments are welcome!
