Just giving advice .. maybe you know or don't know.. the pit you can run the fastest past 65 trumps a level 90 pit.

If you can do level 75 in 3 minutes but 85 takes 5 minutes your winning with the level 75 pit for experience purposes, also I think it is still reward based so extra experience elixirs / incense doesn't provide much help other than the stat / resis purpose.
