Saw a few videos, looks visually appealing and the combat system looks sort of fun.

Can you PvP? If so, how is it done (think D2 free for all of WoW arena)?

How much of a grind is required? I've got an IRL buddy who plays, I'm sort of interested.

there are three different types of pvp in this game

one is standalone 1vs1

another is a capture the flag type, attack opposing players, get the flag back to your base

and the last one both teams have monsters to protect while also trying to kill each others

there is quite a bit of grinding to do

why dont you just ask your friend he'll give you a better description
