I'm looking to buy a truck most likely a f150

but I hesitate between a

2016 F150 LARIAT 5L 35 000$ CAD ( 72 300 KM )
2016 Ford F-150 Lariat Ecoboost 36 699 CAD ( 65 120 KM )

Considering that i'm not going to pull anything with it ( well not planning for now )
which one would you take and why ?

they both have the same equipement

I’m a fan of both, but the coyote has a bit more power and if I recall correctly it gets slightly better mpg than the ecoboost, or it’s about the same.

I’d go with the 5l

my boss has a crew cab lariat with the ecoboost and its a great motor. dont know anything about the coyote but i havent seen anything to worry about on the ecoboost especially if you arent considering pulling anything. personally i would go with the coyote because its cheaper

because they nicknamed the new 5.0l v8 ford motors coyote after the famous chassis named coyote that aj foyt raced in USAC.

5L, the EcoBoost is a dog, poor gas mileage and there will be alot of problems with them down the road

5L is a pretty solid motor, buddy I used to talk to had 140k on his and never an issue and he drove the piss out of it. I had a 2014 (the body style before what you’re looking at) with the eco boost and I loved it, but honesty a twin turbo motor vs a N/A motor, the twin turbo motor is prob going to have issues more often down the road. My buddy has like 120k on his and had his turbos replaced along with some other misc stuff. My other buddy had a lingenfelter tune on his F150 and that truck would smoke cars off the line up until about 45, and then he blew it up. I’m still in the market for another but probably a 2013-2014 limited F150 black with red interior ecoboost or a ‘15 if I can find one cheap enough! Gl
